Russian one and two in Holmenkollen

The two Olgas, Zaitseva and Pyleva secured a Russian double on the women's sprint in Holmnekollen today.

Tadeja Brancovic from Slovenia rounded out the podium on a day when the Norwegians struggled with the shooting.

Liv Grete Poiree started really well and had a convincing lead after five perfect shots on the first shooting. On the second standing shooting it all fell apart thoug. With three shots in the snow, the race was destroyed for the Norwegian favourite.

It has been a great day of Bithlon here in Holmenkollen. After yesterdays cancellation due to fog. The women's sprint was competed in perfect winter conditions in the Norwegian capitol.

The menn's sprint starts at 12:00 and the Norwegians hope to make amence then.

IBU Biathlon World Cups in Holmenkollen is going as planned.

The deadline for moving the Biathlon World Cup races from Holmenkollen to Beitostølen was on November 29th. Due to snowfall and cold weather the last few weeks the races will go as scheduled in Holmenkollen the 2nd weekend in December.
