What skill levels are the courses designed for?

Courses held in English are offered at two levels: Introduction and Beginner.

Introduction Courses

are for those who have never tried cross-country skiing or may have attempted it a few times but struggle with balance and movement. These courses cover basic skills, such as braking, balancing, and generating momentum on skis, to help you become an independent skier.

Beginner Courses

are for those who are not entirely new to skiing. You should be able to stand upright, move with momentum on easy terrain, take short trips independently, and stop on flat terrain. This course will help you master steeper slopes, both uphill and downhill, introduce you to different skiing techniques, and teach you when each technique is most appropriate.

If you are at a more advanced level, consider taking a course conducted in Norwegian.

Afternoon and Evening Courses: Start times at 5:30 PM or 7:15 PM.

Courses start in Week 2 or 5, running once a week on the same day and time for 3 weeks (3 sessions).

For courses starting in Week 9, they run once a week on the same day and time for 2 weeks (2 sessions).

How long is each session?

Each course session lasts 90 minutes. Please arrive early to ensure you’re ready before the course begins.

What equipment do I need to bring?

Bring pre-waxed skis, poles, cross-country ski boots, and clothing appropriate for the weather.

Current waxing information can be found in our trail report. Both waxable and waxless skis (like skin skis) work well for our classic courses.

Do you offer ski rentals?

Unfortunately, the Ski Association does not currently offer rentals for skis and equipment.
