The easiest way to get to Holmenkollen and the Ski Museum is by public transport.
Line 1 Frognerseterbanen runs almost all the way. You get off at Holmenkollen station. From there it is a 10-minute walk. It is only a few hundred meters, but quite steep. In return, you get a lovely view along the way.
