IBU Biathlon World Cups in Holmenkollen is going as planned.

The deadline for moving the Biathlon World Cup races from Holmenkollen to Beitostølen was on November 29th. Due to snowfall and cold weather the last few weeks the races will go as scheduled in Holmenkollen the 2nd weekend in December.

There is quite a lot of natural snow in the Holmenkollen arena now, but still not enough to cover all the trails. Several thousand cubic meters of artificial snow has been produced in Holmenkollen as well as in Sørkedalen. It is safe to say now, regardless of the weather next week, that Holmenkollen will be the venue for the IBU Biathlon World Cups December 9 to December 12.

This weekend the athletes race at Beitostølen before they come to Oslo already on Monday for more training and final preparations. Racing will commence in Holmenkollen with the men's and women's normal distance on Thursday December 9.

During the weekend visiting spectators can also enjoy a Christmas Market in the square next to the Holmenkollen Ski jump and Ski Museum.
