About Skiforeningen

The Association for the Promotion of Skiing - Skiforeningen - was founded 4. January 1883 in Oslo, the objects clause being to promote skiing to the people and to organise the Holmenkollen ski races. Now, being a membership organisation of approximately 50,000 members , the main objective remains the same.

The Ski Museum in Holmenkollen is the world's oldest museum specialising in skis and the history of skiing. The museum is situated inside the actual Holmenkollen ski jump, where visitors can experience a magnificent view of Oslo.
